Port Townsend Studio Tour

Yes, I did this art in the eighties.

Wahoo! This Saturday and Sunday loads of people will be visiting my studio, (and lots of other artists' studios in the area). The sucky part is that it means I have to vacuum. Come on by and visit. Time to get up close and personal. Hey, you can help me vacuum. You can see the whole enchilada of my art: sketches, abstracts, life drawings, paintings, and maquettes. We will have books available for purchase which I can sign and personalize, as well as limited edition prints.

I really hope you can make it. We are giving away Steinway grand pianos and full ride college scholarships to all of your children and grand children (while supply lasts). Poof! Whoah! that went fast.

So, that's an OPEN HOUSE AND STUDIO this weekend for the 11th Annual Port Townsend Art Studio Tour. Along with forty-six other local art studios, we will be open 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. on Saturday and Sunday, October 11-12. More details about our studio are available on the Art Port Townsend website http://artporttownsend.org/2009/richard-jesse-watson/.

Be there or be square (and idle)!

I'm sorry we'll miss this--and hope you do it again someday soon.

Hi Richard -
Thanks for the comments on my blog. :) I just saw your paintings for the "One Wintry Night" book and am quite inspired. Part of my MFA thesis is illustrating the biblical passage Hebrews 11.
I do miss Canada... all of my family is in Calgary. Victoria is a beautiful place though, I can see why you love to visit!
Blessings from San Francisco,
Bethany

I'm afraid I'm going to have to pass this one - I'm going mushroom picking in the woods this weekend :) I would love to visit the studio, though.

It'll be my first time picking them - I usually photograph them :) I should be in good hands as it's a uni field trip - I'm sure the lecturers know what they're about... I was having toast and cereal that morning for breakfast, but I think seeing the colours in the sky set me up better for the day ahead than the food!

You're welcome anytime, Martha. Just let us know if you are in the area and we will stock up on potatoes.

Thanks, Bethany. Your thesis sounds like quite the challenge to illustrate. I am sure you will fold the text into your life as you ponder and paint(?) the mystery of "faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen".

Will miss you, Kitty. We have a world class area for mushroom hunting on our Olympic Peninsula. Good luck in the woods. By the way, my doctor friend in Seattle told me that the most common cause of food poisoning in the Seattle area is from mushroom poisoning. Just sayin"... But I'm sure you are brilliant. We have shaggy mane mushrooms every year just outside. Man they're good in omelets...
